The lounge is small but luxurious, perfect for a lingering date; an intimate spot for two next to the infinity fireplace may even turn things up a few degrees." Time Out Boston
The small lobby of Hotel Veritas is called the Simple Truth Lounge - an elegant, intimate place for our guests (and a very few interesting "outsiders") to meet for a cocktail or glass of wine. Our cocktail and beer lists are focused on offering the best libations made in Massachusetts, with a few other regions thrown in for fun.
In order to maintain our intimate atmosphere, we are unable to accommodate groups larger than four people.
Guests of Hotel Veritas and the Simple Truth Lounge may enjoy some of the finest local cheeses and charcuterie provided by Formaggio Kitchen.
We serve Ice Glen Vodka, Greylock Gin, and Ragged Mountain Rum – each hand crafted in small batches at Berkshire Mountain Distillers, the Berkshire’s first legal distillery since prohibition. They use local crops and fresh water sources to anchor their spirits to the Massachusetts landscape.
Bully Boy Distillers hand-produces premium spirits in Boston in small batches, emphasizing quality over quantity. As homage to the farm, the distillery is named after Bully Boy, a favorite farm workhorse. We proudly serve their vodka and white whiskey.
We're amongst the few Boston area establishments to serve Privateer Silver Reserve Rum, distilled in Ipswich, MA in very limited quanities. Lightly floral with notes of cotton candy, sweet basil, anise, and a hint of butterscotch culminating in a silky finish, this is one of our new favorites.
Our beer list includes Boston's Harpoon IPA, Fisherman's Brew from Cape Ann Brewing from Gloucester, MA, and self-described gypsy brewers Pretty Things flagship beer Jack D'Or. Wines have a more international flavor with an ever-revolving selection of small vintners from Europe and South America.
"This intimate lobby lounge in Harvard Square’s boutique Hotel Veritas offers two sleek, curvaceous sofas in addition to a small complement of chairs inside, plus a quartet of patio tables outside; as for the sips and snacks, ‘local’ is the name of the game, with moderately priced New England brews and craft spirits from Berkshire Mountain Distillers, plus American charcuterie and cheese plates spotlighting provender from regional farms and dairies." "The sitting area of the Hotel Veritas deserves special mention. With a carefully edited array of local cheese and charcuterie, smart cocktails and a short but power-packed beer and wine list—not to mention beautifully understated furnishings, an outdoor patio and some of the best background music in Cambridge—this is a gem that locals in the know are beginning to discover. The lounge is small but luxurious, perfect for a lingering date; an intimate spot for two next to the infinity fireplace may even turn things up a few degrees." Time Out Boston
